About this game

This is the Australian Here and Now edition of Monopoly. Parker Brothers invited people to vote online as to which parts of Australia should be included on the board. Some of the results were suprising, Sydney, for example, was not chosen in favour of Tamworth and Broken Hill. Voting results can be seen here - http://www.monopoly.com.au/results.php Apart from the Australian themed board the tokens are different from the classic set - we have Pair of Thongs, Surfboard, Ute, Koala, Labradoodle (the poodle Labrador cross breed that originated in Australia), Mobile Phone, Laptop Computer, and jar of Vegemite.

Does it fit your group?

• Group size. Works with 2 to 6.
• Rules load. At 1.5/5 this is a light game — explain it in a few minutes, good for a table that has not played much.
• Age. The publisher suggests 8 and up. That rates the rules rather than the artwork, so judge the box yourself for younger players.
