Der Goldene Kompass (2007)

About this game

Disambiguation: This game is for the Golden Compass book, the game for the movie is located over here. Based on the popular fantasy book that is now becoming a movie, Golden Compass is a story of an orphan girl, Lyra. With her dæmon Pantalaimon, Lyra is trying to unravel the secret of lost children. Her travels will take her to the cold north, home of the witches and the armoured bears. From there, she must travel to the another world - and that is the goal of the players in this game. Players must use their cards to gather experience, partake in encounters and make their way to the goal, before other players succeed in the same task.

Does it fit your group?

• Group size. Works with 2 to 4.
• Rules load. At 1.9/5 this is a light game — explain it in a few minutes, good for a table that has not played much.
• Age. The publisher suggests 10 and up. That rates the rules rather than the artwork, so judge the box yourself for younger players.
