Warhammer Warriors: Kal Jerico (1999)

About this game

A Warhammer version of Lost Worlds based on Games Workshop's 40,000 setting. Each player uses a battle book and chooses a page number for a maneuver for their turn. These are revealed simultaneously and cross-referenced. A chart then shows you which page to turn to see the results of the maneuvers. Players usually end up wounded or in a better position to strike a killing blow. Warhammer Warriors is slightly more stream-lined than Lost Worlds and plays faster. Warhammer Warriors does not have "behind you" maneuvers and there is a lot more shooting/ranged combat. All characters have a Deathblow maneuver which speed up games if you're in a good position. Kal Jerico is number #1 in the series.

• Rules load. At 1.5/5 this is a light game — explain it in a few minutes, good for a table that has not played much.
• Age. The publisher suggests 10 and up. That rates the rules rather than the artwork, so judge the box yourself for younger players.
