Scrabble Card Game (1997)

About this game

A simple conversion of Scrabble, with cards instead of tiles. Keep 7 cards in your hand, then put the cards down forming words and disposing them in a crosswords style. Double and triple scoring is given by 10 special cards. Some later editions contain additional special bonus cards. The Tinderbox Games edition from 2009 includes rules to 3 different games. Does it fit your group?

• Group size. Works with 2 to 6.
• Rules load. At 1.6/5 this is a light game — explain it in a few minutes, good for a table that has not played much.
• Age. The publisher suggests 10 and up. That rates the rules rather than the artwork, so judge the box yourself for younger players.
