Starship Duel I (1984)

About this game

A game of starship combat between the USS Enterprise and a Klingon Bird of Prey scout. There is no mapboard. Instead, the game is played using two Navigation Wheels that show the relative position and heading of each ship, depending on the maneuvers made by the players. A Statistics card is used to damage and starship systems. Game variations include the option of using a Klingon frigate in place of the Bird of Prey, or playing a solitaire game against a "computer controlled" drone ship. See also Starship Duel II

Does it fit your group?

• Group size. Works with 1 to 2. It has a designed solo mode.
• Rules load. At 1.5/5 this is a light game — explain it in a few minutes, good for a table that has not played much.
• Age. The publisher suggests 12 and up. That rates the rules rather than the artwork, so judge the box yourself for younger players.
