Man to Man (1985)

About this game

"Steve Jackson's Man to Man: Fantasy Combat from GURPS." "Man to Man is the combat system for GURPS - the Generic Universal Role Playing System . . . Man to Man makes an excellent stand-alone boardgame! Man to Man is intended to be a highly realistic, yet fast-moving, simulation of pre-gunpowder combat. It is presented in two levels - Basic and Advanced. It can be used in a variety of ways . . . non-role players will enjoy Man to Man as a combat boardgame. The advanced game provides a wealth of tactical detail - but it moves quickly enough to be fun. The tactics that work in real life will work here."

Does it fit your group?

• Group size. Works with 2 to 12.
• Rules load. At 3.0/5 this is a mid-weight game — expect a proper rules explanation before you start.
• Age. The publisher suggests 12 and up. That rates the rules rather than the artwork, so judge the box yourself for younger players.
