About this game
Eastwall is an operational simulation of the campaign for control of the Ukraine, lasting from September 1943 to February 1944. One side represents the German forces of Heeresgruppe Süd while the other side controls the Red Army forces of several fronts. Eastwall uses the popular system of the Ring of Fire. Eastwall includes two kinds of combat, tank combat and regular combat, plus innovative reserve rules, paradrops (á la Kanev), and special bridgehead operations across the mighty Dnepr river. Eastwall is the game for the serious student of armored warfare on the Eastern Front. Scenarios: 3 Complexity: Low-to-Moderate Solitaire Suitability: Moderate/High Scale: 15 km per hex; 7 days per turn; Brigade/Kampfgruppe/Division/Corps Content: one 22"x34" full color map by Joe Youst, 480 full color back printed counters, one rules booklet with historical commentary, four player aid cards, in ziplock bag.
Does it fit your group?
- Group size. Works with 1 to 2. It has a designed solo mode.
- Rules load. At 3.0/5 this is a mid-weight game — expect a proper rules explanation before you start.
- Age. The publisher suggests 12 and up. That rates the rules rather than the artwork, so judge the box yourself for younger players.
